Our Story

About the Association

A legacy of justice, unity, and service to the legal fraternity of Chennai.

Our Heritage

A Proud Legacy

The GT Bar Association was established in the historic precinct of George Town, Chennai, and has served as a cornerstone of the city's legal landscape for over seven decades. Founded on the twin pillars of professional camaraderie and unwavering commitment to justice, our association has grown from a small fraternity to a 1,200-strong body of advocates.

Operating from our iconic red sandstone building on Rajaji Salai, we have witnessed and participated in many landmark chapters of Tamil Nadu's legal history — from land reform legislation to modern constitutional challenges.

Today, under the motto "Strength in Unity," the GT Bar Association continues to advocate for its members' welfare, provide professional development resources, and maintain the highest standards of legal ethics.
